Academy Ambassadors Academy Ambassador is a highly competitive honor. Selected students and ensembles are chosen to represent the Academy to the public with performances year-round for community groups such as Rotary, Council on Aging, Newcomers Club, Amelia Island Plantation, and many more.
New Horizons Concert Band Dust off your instrument and join the only community band in Nassau County! This community band for musicians of all ages and skill levels performs traditional band repertoire at a variety of events. Rehearsals are Thursdays 6-7:30pm.
Academy Jazz Collection This Jazz Ensemble plays swing and jazz favorites, and is open to players of all ‘big band’ instrumentation. Collection members learn learn jazz styles, interpretation and literature, as well as improvisational techniques. The Jazz Collection performs at special events throughout the region. Rehearsals are Tuesdays 6-8 pm
Academy Chamber Music Orchestra An ensemble for advanced wind, string and percussion players who perform standard chamber orchestra literature from Classical, Baroque, Romantic and Contemporary periods. Now auditioning for wind and percussion players to join the orchestra at no fee. Rehearsals are Tuesdays 6-7 pm.
Short Strings This string group is specially designed for the youngest string players. Viola, Violin, and Cello players ages 0-10 years old have fun and learn to play with peers at an early age. Rehearsals are Fridays 4-5 pm.
*All Member Musicians are welcome to join any Academy band or ensemble. Memberships are available for only $100 per year, or $50 per year for Academy students. For more information, call (904) 277-1225.

Make Your Next Event Memorable Academy Ambassadors, the New Horizons Concert Band, the Academy Chamber Music Orchestra, Academy Jazz Collection, and any academy group are available to perform at your next event for a small honorarium. 6 weeks notice is usually necessary. Chamber Music Workshop Ensembles of small groups (trios, quartets, etc.) are formed for the purpose of learning and performing the special literature for classical Chamber Music Audiences. This special program is available for Chamber Music Musicians of all ages. There is no fee to participate in this program. Players are selected through auditions. Rehearsals are Tuesdays 7-8 pm. |
